Explain the choices you made in class for the casting/object selection for Romeo and Juliet. Who did you choose and why? Who did you leave out and why? What objects did you choose and why? How will your character use this object in the play? What effect will this have on your production overall? Also, if you were ti use your classmates, explain who you would cast in these roles and why. In class we are reading the Romantic play, Romeo and Juliet.  So far our class is up to the beginning of Act five. In class we were assigned to give the ten most important characters in the play objects.  These objects can be anything but must choose wisely.  In my group it was me, Cassidy, and Aaron.  We all worked very hard to determine which characters were best and what object best represented them in the play.  To start off with Romeo, we chose armour for him.  We chose armour for him because it showed that he was brave enough to fight Tybalt and show that he is a fie...

In class writing-

Meaty Paragraph- Who in the play is most in fault with Romeo and Juliet's actions? Who's to blame? I feel Juliet's parents are to blame for Romeo and Juliet's actions.  I feel Lady and Lord Capulet did not care about her daughter.  Juliet is only 13 years old and her parents are already planning a marriage with the handsome man named Paris.  I feel like Juliet should live her own lifestyle and not just follow her parents orders since it is not there lives.  At the party Juliet parents were just like, "Just see if you can like him at the party tonight, sweetheart."  They are being quiet annoying and feel bad for Juliet cause she is being controlled.  She does not show any love even when she talked to Paris.  Suddenly, Juliet's good cousin, Tybalt has died.  Juliet is very sad and can not stop being sad.  Juliet's parents bring up the marriage part again to Juliet to have her mind off of Tybalt.  Juliet's parent really did not show any l...

Although I watched a more recent version of this production, it was first premiered back in the 1980's.  This story took place in the early nineteenth century and was later performed at theaters.  To this day, theaters are still perfor...

In Class Writing- Jacob L

Part one -- In Act 3 Scene 1 who is really responsible for Mercutio’s death: Mercutio, who provoked the fight, Tybalt who stabbed him, or Romeo who got between them? Use specific evidence (direct quotes) from the play to back this up.  1.  I feel Romeo is somewhat responsible for Mercutio's death.  Mercutio has been Romeo's best friend since the start of the play.  Romeo did not really take part in the fight between Mercutio and Tybalt.  If I were Romeo and my best friend was in a fight with someone else I would step in and try and stop it before anyone gets hurt.  Unfortunately, Romeo was not looking to fight anyone not even Tybalt so then Mercutio stepped in for Romeo.  Mercutio was stabbed and then bled to death.  After the fact when Mercutio died , Romeo regretted not fighting Tybalt and should have taken Mercutio's place.  Mercutio showed bravery and stood up for his best friend, Romeo.  Romeo said to Tyblat, "Villain am...

Blog Post #6- Jacob Lebowitz

Jacob Lebowitz October 7, 2017 Mrs. Guarino In the romantic and dramatic play Romeo and Juliet, I think of Friar Lawrence as a peacemaker. Some people may not agree with me and how Friar Lawrence is a peacemaker but I truly believe he has made things better in this play throughout the story.  Friar Lawrence had many examples how he created peace instead of disagreeing with him creating peace.  For example, when Friar Lawrence heard about Romeo and Juliet he was thinking about what could happen.  To me, Friar Lawrence looks out for Romeo.  Romeo just got over his relationship with Rosaline and has already moved past her and now onto Juliet.  I feel he is emotional and needs to find someone who will love him back.  Friar Lawrence just wants Romeo to be safe and loved.  The last thing he wants to see his Romeo very upset over his love life.  Love is not easy for anyone and can be very hard getting over that one person you love who no longer loves...

Rest of Act 2- Jacob Lebowitz

1st Half of Act 2- Jacob Lebowitz

Notes: - Romeo tryna find Juliet -Not going home -He enters the Capulet territory -Benvolio and Mercutio looking for Romeo -Juliet does not know Romeo is there -Afraid Romeo is going to get caught and killed - The nurse does not want Juliet to get caught so she goes inside - Tells friar Lawrence about Juliet -Benvolio wondering wha happened to Romeo that night - Heres he did not come back -Tybalt wants to fight Romeo - Nurse meets Romeo and Benvolio

Blog Post #5- Jacob L

The Montague family and Capulet family are great enemies.  The Capulet's seem very violent.  They wear dark color clothing do make it seem like there harts are dark and evil.  Some of the Capulet's have slick hair while others have braids.  They want to make it look like they are almost from the hood or the ghetto.  For example, Tybalt wants to make himself look like the baddest and swages Capulet out of the all.  Tybalt wants to almost look like a showoff because he is wearing very high heels with steel that clings every time he steps on the ground.  Not only that he has a cigarette in his mouth to make him look like the cool guy.  When asked Tybalt if there can just be peace between us sides he responds saying, "I hate peace."  Peace makes Tyablt very angry during the story because all he wants to do is kill the Montague.  Tybalt shows that he is also aggressive and violent and starts a fight with the Montague's.  As for the Monta...

Act 1 Quiz- Jacob Lebowitz

1. I feel as if though Romeo and Juliet do not really fall in love.  I myself do believe in love at first sight but in the story I am not sure if this was really love at first.  I think Romeo was desperate for a girl so whoever he saw that night would be the one for him and which happened to be Juliet part of Montague.  I think Romeo wanted to be with someone even if it was not Juliet. Romeo really wanted to be loved.  Romeo at first thought he could never get someone better than Rosaline.  The whole time he had been trying to find a person to replace Rosaline with Juliet. 2.  In class we are watching the film Romeo and Juliet.  The director showed the "Love at first sight from Romeo and Juliet."  The director shows this love when Romeo is taking a deep breath and had to clear his mind from everything.  At this point, Romeo had no idea who Juliet was.  All of a sudden Romeo sees a bright fish tank and on the other side you could see Ju...
