Blogger Performance

Short reflection due: what were your personal strengths and weaknesses in this project (review the video to assess your performance). 200 words. Post on blog I felt my performance with Jasmine went well.  I think we were prepared to memorize most of lines.  At times we blanked on our lines.  Our script is also comprehensible.  We show how the son (me) peaks through and finds out that his mother is a prostitute.  He lost his Dad and is living in a small house.  My mother (Jasmine) must be a night women so she can provide security and protection.  I felt we were good speaking out loud so the audience could hear us.  I noticed that some groups were not too loud and was hard to understand what they were saying.  If I had to fix something, I wish we could have added more blocking instead of sitting at a table and listening to each other talk about Dad and school.  At times we had to pause to think about our lines but we overcame it. ...

Blog post due -- what do you need to revise on your drafts to show more clarity, conviction, commitment, emotion, and overall strengthen your performance. Be specific on what you need to revise and why. 300 words. After reviewing and performing my act with jasmine I have noticed some corrections that I should include.  When I first performed for the rough draft I did not show enough emotion.  For the final performance I must show that I am very sad because I have just lost my father.  Not only that, I should get angry at Jasmine for a few lines because she is lying to me.  I noticed what she was doing and was in shock what she has done.  Although in the end, she tells me why she is a night women because she wants to provide me with protection and security.  I also should revise some of the lines because it sometimes gets repetitive.  I mention the part where I found out about her hidden secret multiple times.  maybe during my monologues I can...

Blog post due on how to best perform your scene to highlight the specific literary elements and analysis you have identified -- 300 words After performing a rough draft of our play that we made I identified some thing I should try and show.  I have to show more emotion when playing the character, little guy in our performance.  I was to bland and showed an emotion that was not sad.  I really liked the way our act is performed.  I feel Jasmine and I have a lot of blocking and the scenes are very easy to understand.  I think we should include the separation piece from the start because moving it takes away time performing.  At times I should show happiness because I don’t know what happened to Dad and I didn’t know what moms job was.  I think Jasmine and I show many characteristics like caring, loving, sadness, and awareness of our surroundings.  My favorite part in our performance was when I gave my monologue about my mother and how I comprehe...

Uta Hagen’s Nine Questions

1.  In my act I will be playing Lil Guy.  Little guy who is Elementary school.  I have a mother but no father.  My father died from one of his goals (flying air balloon).  I like school but ever since Dad has been gone I haven’t enjoyed it as much especially the singing.  I have a fear that my mother is forgetting about my father.  I believe my father is an angel who is now watching over us. 2. 21 century.  The act goes from day time to night time (light to dark).  That in the day the mother is not working while the son is at school.  At night my mother goes to work while I’m asleep. 3.  In the United States.  In a small urban town.  We are in a small apartment with only a couple rooms.  The building is very outdated.  The apartment is also outdated with little things. 4.  It is sunny during the day then dark in the night.  My mother is living with me in the apartment.  There’s a table, bed, cha...
