2 best Haikus

the worm, lips to hold sparkling grape’s slimy circle, shape of reptile’s food. -Ravi Shankar I like this haiku poem because it really guves good deatil.  The detail makes the poem very interesting and joyful. The details and words make the poem good.  This poem makes sense too. The light of a candle is transferred to another candle— spring twilight. -Yosa Busa This is really deep about the candle. This really brings joy to the poem itself. How the light is going to other candles lights and spreads which create a twilight. Reapeating candle is interesting and I like that about this poem.

Favorite Haiku Poem

From David: We ate chicken wraps Food isn't good they never clap I hate chicken wraps This Haiku is written by my classmate, Aaron.  I really like this Haiku cause it starts with the chicken wraps and ends with the chicken wraps.  Not only that, this haiku makes sense compared to others cause no one claps because the chicken wraps are not very good.  All in all, this was my most favorite Haiku  poem.   -Jacob

Lebowitz 1 Jacob Lebowitz Mrs. Guarino IB Lit and Performance March 9, 2018 The Glass Menagerie Tom Wingfield Jacob Lebowitz           The Glass Menagerie took place in the mid 1900's and explains the realationship between To, Amanda, and of course Laura.  For the past 2 months we have been reading the  Glass Menagerie .    This play is set in St. Louis around the year of 1930.    Tom supports his family by working at the warehouse. Unfortunately, Amanda and Laura are only depending on Tom to help them live.  In the very beginning, Tom and Laura's Dad, leaves the family behind.  He never appears back in their lives ever again.  Throughout the play there is a lot of arguments going on between most of the characters.  The Wingfield's are very poor and soon gonna be living on the streets if they don't change things around the house.  Grace and I were put to work and did our final act together. ...

In class writing:

Sam Weed and Julia Rafferty Analysis of Literary features of the text: 0-5 Both a 4 Exploration of the chosen approach to the text:0-5 Both a 5 Use of Language (Structure): 0-5 3 and 4 Paragraph 1: Julia:I feel like Julia did a better job telling her experience and showing that she fully understood what was happening throughout Romeo and Juliet.  I really liked how Julia added the text in the 1-2 page.  She clearly pulled important text to backup her explanation of the experience.  When performing she did not write so much fluff and told us what facial expressions she had to do to make her part seem like Romeo.  I felt Julia did a wonderful job and spent a lot of time practicing and writing about Romeo and Juliet.  This is why I gave her 13/15.  I strictly graded her on her language cause there is no such thing as perfect language.  Although, she did use good transition words which helped make her point. Sam:  Sam also did a great job...

Self Evalution

I thought my performance and write up about my performance was alright.  I think like Cassidy washing to not right so much "fluff."  I really just wrote all this fluff to fill up word space and really want the IB people who are grading my essay to know what I did to be here today.  I also think I should try and talk less about every single thing I did to prepare myself for the act.  I want to add more about the performance and not as much about the literary analysis.  In my write up I wrote a lot about the literary analysis instead of the performance.  I feel that I do need some fluff or else there will be a bit of confusion about whats going on.  I should edit more of the literary analysis though and compare more Tom's emotion in the play to my performance.  I could also probably talk a little bit about Grace and I working together to fill up some space.  My biggest issue is the words and getting to 2000 words.  I feel it will be hard t...

Review of Musical

Last Wednesday on February 21, 2018, I watched my schools play, Les Miserable by Victor Hugo.  I thought the play was very good considering it was many of the actors first time performing.  You could tell in the beginning that some were nervous than others but as the play went along it got better.  If I were the actors Im not sure how I would perform cause this play is one of the longest plays I have ever seen.  Im sure it took lots of practice, time memorizing, and blocking the scenes.  The summary of this musical was about this man named Jean Valjean who was put in a prison for stealing a loaf of bred.  Jean Valjean was put into a prison for his bad action.  Although this action seems very silly people back then were very poor and serious.  Jean Valjean spent a total of nineteen years in this prison.  Yes, nineteen full years in prison working as a slave working for a man named Javert which was played by Jenna Denomme.  He also tried t...
