Short reflection due: what were your personal strengths and weaknesses in this project (review the video to assess your performance). 200 words. Post on blog

I felt my performance with Jasmine went well.  I think we were prepared to memorize most of lines.  At times we blanked on our lines.  Our script is also comprehensible.  We show how the son (me) peaks through and finds out that his mother is a prostitute.  He lost his Dad and is living in a small house.  My mother (Jasmine) must be a night women so she can provide security and protection.  I felt we were good speaking out loud so the audience could hear us.  I noticed that some groups were not too loud and was hard to understand what they were saying.  If I had to fix something, I wish we could have added more blocking instead of sitting at a table and listening to each other talk about Dad and school.  At times we had to pause to think about our lines but we overcame it.  It was much better than the first memorization quiz.  After watching other groups perform I really liked the background color (red or blue).  It really set the tone of the scene (possible nighttime or death).  Finally, I really liked how Jasmine and I constructed this performance and .

Self Evalution

I thought my performance and write up about my performance was alright.  I think like Cassidy washing to not right so much "fluff."  I really just wrote all this fluff to fill up word space and really want the IB people who are grading my essay to know what I did to be here today.  I also think I should try and talk less about every single thing I did to prepare myself for the act.  I want to add more about the performance and not as much about the literary analysis.  In my write up I wrote a lot about the literary analysis instead of the performance.  I feel that I do need some fluff or else there will be a bit of confusion about whats going on.  I should edit more of the literary analysis though and compare more Tom's emotion in the play to my performance.  I could also probably talk a little bit about Grace and I working together to fill up some space.  My biggest issue is the words and getting to 2000 words.  I feel it will be hard t...

Oral Presentation Practice:

#1.)  When I read the chapters, “The Wall of Fire Rising” and “Night Women” in the book Krik Krak by Edwinge Danticat, these two stories seemed to be the most eye catching to me.  When I say eye catching, they seemed different that all the other stories because most of these stories talked about the Hatian Culture and how everyone was fleeing the country because of the Macouts.  The Government was in full control of the Haitian people.  I thought these two chapters had a connection because they both have a mother and son but no father.  I thought this would make a good piece in our created performance cause we could see what both sides looked like in both stories.  In both chapters, Little Guy and Night Womens son were going through a tough time because Little Guy just lost his father and Night womens a prostetute.  After all, it seemed like the performance worked out by putting Lily as Night Women and Little Guy as Night Women's son.  It was a ve...
