Chapter 3-5 Notes

Chapter 3:
- A car Accident
-  She's startled by this tragic event
- Seems suspicious about the scene
-  Not sure what to do because its just her and no one else
-  Man was in the car accident
- Man seems to be okay almost like this man was suppose to be there
-  Was it meant to be?
-  The peasants help out the man who is injured
Chapter 4:
- Man in Desiree's house
- Trying to find the mans family
- His family is probably wondering where he is and if he is okay
- The man is pretty wounded but is treated by the peasants
- Unfortunately, a storm sweeps through the peasants village and ruins the landscape
Chapter 5:
- The Dads son comes and picks up his kid from the village
- The storm knocks out the village
- The sons name was Daniel B and Desiree seemed to not want him to leave
-  She felt it was meant to be that Daniel was sent here to the village hurt

Self Evalution

I thought my performance and write up about my performance was alright.  I think like Cassidy washing to not right so much "fluff."  I really just wrote all this fluff to fill up word space and really want the IB people who are grading my essay to know what I did to be here today.  I also think I should try and talk less about every single thing I did to prepare myself for the act.  I want to add more about the performance and not as much about the literary analysis.  In my write up I wrote a lot about the literary analysis instead of the performance.  I feel that I do need some fluff or else there will be a bit of confusion about whats going on.  I should edit more of the literary analysis though and compare more Tom's emotion in the play to my performance.  I could also probably talk a little bit about Grace and I working together to fill up some space.  My biggest issue is the words and getting to 2000 words.  I feel it will be hard t...

Oral Presentation Practice:

#1.)  When I read the chapters, “The Wall of Fire Rising” and “Night Women” in the book Krik Krak by Edwinge Danticat, these two stories seemed to be the most eye catching to me.  When I say eye catching, they seemed different that all the other stories because most of these stories talked about the Hatian Culture and how everyone was fleeing the country because of the Macouts.  The Government was in full control of the Haitian people.  I thought these two chapters had a connection because they both have a mother and son but no father.  I thought this would make a good piece in our created performance cause we could see what both sides looked like in both stories.  In both chapters, Little Guy and Night Womens son were going through a tough time because Little Guy just lost his father and Night womens a prostetute.  After all, it seemed like the performance worked out by putting Lily as Night Women and Little Guy as Night Women's son.  It was a ve...
