Blog post. 500 words. Find passages from the text that refer to the 4 gods. Describe their characters and characteristics. What do they look like, act like, sound like, etc.? Also describe how you would represent them on stage. Use direct quotes for each.

When talking about the Gods I would start off with Agwe, God of water.  Agwe is for the people and is the master of the water.  I would picture Awge looking like a human but with a clear form.  Agwe would be made out of water and his body would be somewhat transluscent because of the water.  Everything apart of him is blue because that what he color of water is.  I picture most of these Gods having long hair with beards.  Agwe cares a lot about the Earth and wants the people to treat it kindly.  "Agwe, god of the sea, of our waters."  It talks about how he brings life to its fullest by making everything healthy.

Another God in the story is Papa Ge.  Papa Ge is a serious yet mean God.  Papa Ge is the God of death and takes peoples  souls.  For example in the passage, Papa Ge is asking to take Daniels soul but Desiree will not let him because she cares about him and wants to be there for him.  She sticks up for Daniel to Papa Ge.  I can picture Papa Ge wearing all black robe with darkness around him.  Maybe he has a black beard and thunder plays in the background making it a creep sort of feeling.  His happiness is killing other innocent people and taking their souls with him.  Papa Ge seems to be the worst God out of all the Gods because his role is very negative compared to all the other Gods in the story.  Papa Ge, "Not a man, a demon."  I could also see Papa Ge gathering the souls of the dead and having blood around his body.

Asaka, god of plants.  She controls the plants and trees and keeps them healthy for the peasants.  These trees are useful and plants are used for growing.  She seems to be the happiest out of the Gods because she brings the dead flowers back to life or keeps them to its fullest.  If I was to picture Asaka, I would have her dressed up in a bunch of bright, beautiful flowers wrapped around her since she is the goddess of plants.  These flowers would be all colors but very bright showing positivity and growth.  She "Keeps the trees forever green."
