Notes:

Starts off very detailed and descriptive about the environment surrounded.

Setting:  Nature like backgrounds.  In some village with trees around.  Details on the background surrounding the village.
Characters:
Monsieur Bienconnu:  Talks about the nature of the mountains and trees.  Talks a lot about the history of the men and peasants.  He has all the knowledge.  100+ years old and knows stories.  Intelligent.
Mama Euralie and Tonton:  Also talk about history.  Intelligent.  All look at the mountains.  Talk about the detail of the trees and hills
Peasant Girl:  Wants to believe what she's dreaming about.  Seems like they are working hard as peasants.  Very limited resources.  Her name in story is Desirèe.  Her real name is Timoune
Mama Euralie is her mother, Tontun Julian is her father.
Not sure about the time and setting.
Serious voodoo religion in peasant village.
4 Gods:
Asaka: goddess of the earth
Ague:  God of water
Erzulie:  God of Love
Papa Gé:  God of Death
Desiree seems poor and works hard and wants a better life or thinks of a better life
She seems courageous and rebellious and goes near the rich.
Everyone has to follow rules poor is with poor, rich is with rich
Teenager (16 years old) which is near adulthood

Self Evalution

I thought my performance and write up about my performance was alright.  I think like Cassidy washing to not right so much "fluff."  I really just wrote all this fluff to fill up word space and really want the IB people who are grading my essay to know what I did to be here today.  I also think I should try and talk less about every single thing I did to prepare myself for the act.  I want to add more about the performance and not as much about the literary analysis.  In my write up I wrote a lot about the literary analysis instead of the performance.  I feel that I do need some fluff or else there will be a bit of confusion about whats going on.  I should edit more of the literary analysis though and compare more Tom's emotion in the play to my performance.  I could also probably talk a little bit about Grace and I working together to fill up some space.  My biggest issue is the words and getting to 2000 words.  I feel it will be hard t...

Oral Presentation Practice:

#1.)  When I read the chapters, “The Wall of Fire Rising” and “Night Women” in the book Krik Krak by Edwinge Danticat, these two stories seemed to be the most eye catching to me.  When I say eye catching, they seemed different that all the other stories because most of these stories talked about the Hatian Culture and how everyone was fleeing the country because of the Macouts.  The Government was in full control of the Haitian people.  I thought these two chapters had a connection because they both have a mother and son but no father.  I thought this would make a good piece in our created performance cause we could see what both sides looked like in both stories.  In both chapters, Little Guy and Night Womens son were going through a tough time because Little Guy just lost his father and Night womens a prostetute.  After all, it seemed like the performance worked out by putting Lily as Night Women and Little Guy as Night Women's son.  It was a ve...
