Group Proposal

Group Proposal due: watch video, make a list of what works and what doesn't. Decide what you need t fix, add, change, polish, etc. Come up with a proposal of what you will work on between now and Jan 29 and include due dates for this work. 300 wds. 

Jasmine and Jacob 

After rewatching our short video we noticed there some parts that needed to be changed and added.  I should show more emotion.  When Ivan and Jasmine were dancing I was awkwardly standing there practically watching my mother dance with another man.  I shouldbe shocked, blown away watching this happen.  I felt the dancing was two close to my pount where I was watching them.  They should be more to the left while I peak through to say my monologue.  I also need to memorize my second monologue.  I feel it is too repititve and that Is why I get confused.  You may have noticed me repeating the line several times.  For Jasmine, at times it was hard to hear her through the microphone.  The people reviewing our performance are going to have to hear us clearly and is a key part to the performance.  Also, expressing the emotion is a key part to.  This can show that she plays the chracter, night women well.  Dor the final piece we should find fit costumes for both of our parts. Jasmine has a good dress that plays the role.  She also uses props like perfume, brush, money.  For me, I should look like a very poor boy.  The shirt that I was wearing did not really fit the part because it has prison letters on the back of it that bled through.  Also when the scene ended and the lights when pitch black it was very hard to see where to walk.  I think there should be like a blue light so we can move props while still be able to see where we are walking.  In the end of the performance I was not told to bow and it was awkward because it was not planned.  I think if we are going to bow we are going to be ready for it instead of unprepared.  These are parts that Jasmine and I must fiz before the final performance.

Acting:

-  More emotion
- I didn’t show enough emotion when I saw my mom and after I found out my father was dead
-  I felt that I need to memorize my monologues
-  by memorizing my lines I can practice with one of my family members repeatedly
-  My lines are sometimes repetitive (protection and security)
-  this makes me mess up some of my lines
-  I should also speak louder
-  I felt it was hard to hear and follow the lines for everyone else’s performance because they did not speak loud enough
-  I also feel like everyone was rushing to finish there performance
-  The IB people want to hear us loud and clear which is a key part
-  Emotion is also key because the IB wants to see us play our character well with little to no flaws



Lighting:
-  When the scene ended in our performance I personally could not see at all
-  I think there should be like a blue light so we can move around and change props
-  also during the scene when I am going to bed the lights should be blue on my side showing a sleep mode (different than everyone else’s)



Blocking:
-  I felt the blocking was awkward when Ivan and Jasmine were dancing
-  I felt to close to them when I was speaking my monologue
-  I also think we should turn up the music at certain points especially towards the end when we make up
-  For props I need to look very poor by finding worn down pants and shoes and a cheap shirt
-  at the end of our performance, I like the idea of bowing but I was not aware of it
