Blog Post- 1/22

Individual update due -- Post on your blog what you have been working on, how it's going, what else you need to do to improve your project -- 300 words. Prepare to present your ideas in class as well.

Today in class Jasmine and I performed a practice run of our performance with lighting and blocking.  Unfortunately, Jasmine was not hear some of last week and the week before so we have not really been able to practice our lines as much as we had hoped for today.  We must memorize our lines for the actual performance next week because it is a crucial part.  I really liked how it was practice and could get used to expressing my voice.  At times I get a bit nervous when I say my lines because I feel like Im not playing the character.  We were also told that we had to speak louder because the guys doing the lighting and cues sometimes could not hear what we were saying.  I feel like our practice has been alright but todays practice performance picked us up to where we should be with feedback from Classmates and Mrs. Guarino.  I still feel like Jasmine and I should make eye contact most of the time because it is just me and her mostly in our performance.  Even Mrs. Guarino said that we should make eye contact to show reality of the character Little Guy and Night Women.  We have mainly been working on editing the script because for me, I thought my lines were very repetitive.  I changed some lines like when I said Im so thankful for my moms protection and security I just took those lines out because the were not necessary.  One thing that I felt good about in the practice performance today was reviewing the lights and where the blocking was taking place.  Before I felt confused on what to say in the script but Im happy that we got the part figured out.  I will be watching other classmates performances and thinking about some ideas that could also make our performance better.
