KK Blog Post #2

KK Blog Post 2 due. Choose one character from the first 4 stories and do a character analysis using Uta Hagen's 9 questions. 500 words

The Character that I chose is Night Women.

Questions:

Who am I?
Night women.  Night women is a 25 years old and has a son.  She currently is a prostitute who hates her job.  She works as a prostitute only to support her son.  Without a job her son would have a challenging life with no education.  Before her son grows up she does not want him to find out about this job.  It would be awful if her son found out what she was doing every night.  Soon he will know and she will be prepared to tell lies to protect him.

What time is it?
In this chapter of the book, it did not really mention a specific time of day.  Like I was saying, most of this chapter is based off of her working at night so it is clearly taken place mostly at night when she works as a prostitute.

Where am I?
She is a very poor women who lives in a smaller house with her son.  She can not afford a bigger house cause she works as a prostitute.  Many come over at night so she covers up half of the house making sure her son does not witness anything bad.  It is one of her fears knowing that her son could possibly find out any time.

What surrounds me?
Night women is not surrounded by much.  With hardly any money to support herself and family she can not afford much. She also is not married which makes it even harder to support her son.  Her life basically revolves around the night where she works as a prostitute.  You do not need to work that hard as a prostitute unlike many other educated jobs.  I also feel she's a loner because she has no friends, and no husband.  In all, the only things that surround night women is her son, her job, and herself.

What are the given circumstances?
All the events that night women has been through has been challenging.  She is very poor with a concerning job.  When I say concerning, her son is the last person that needs to know what she does as a living.  She all creates and tells lies to her soon about what goes on.  She tells stories about angels to her son to try and make him believe it.

What is my relationship?
Night women has very few relationships.  Her closest relationship is with her son.  She unfortunately has no husband.  She also has some relationships with visitors through her job as a prostitute.  She is only close with the men because they pay her to do her job.

What do I want?
All she cares about is her innocent son.  She wants him to be successful in life.  Night women must make money in order for this dream to come true.  She wants him to live a great life, at least better than the one he lives in now.

What is in my way?
Well she does not want her son to find out about her job so she has to be careful.  Without the money from the men they would be living on the streets.  She must work hard for her sons future.

What do I do to get what I want?
The only thing she needs is a job to support the family.  Fortunately, she has a job which is great.

Night women is a supportive mother who cares about her son by working secretively behind his back at night.
