Epilogue for "Krik Krak"
- The name is not said who is speaking as a narrator
- who do you think is speaking in the epilogue
- The author speaks
- Talking throughout the whole book
-Talking about writing and how it is not great
- At the time it was hard
- Kind of like the whole theme of protecting the kids and supporting them so they can live a better life
- Everyone works the same
- The mothers wants the daughter to be successful
- She wants her to be more succesful than a writer even though her true passion is for writing
- She thinks there are better opprotunities and jobs than becoming a writer
- The mother seems to control her life and decisions
- If i were the daughter I would do what I love by becoming a writer
- Even though she knows the struggles
- I feel bad for the duaghter to have a mother that is dissappointed

Self Evalution

I thought my performance and write up about my performance was alright.  I think like Cassidy washing to not right so much "fluff."  I really just wrote all this fluff to fill up word space and really want the IB people who are grading my essay to know what I did to be here today.  I also think I should try and talk less about every single thing I did to prepare myself for the act.  I want to add more about the performance and not as much about the literary analysis.  In my write up I wrote a lot about the literary analysis instead of the performance.  I feel that I do need some fluff or else there will be a bit of confusion about whats going on.  I should edit more of the literary analysis though and compare more Tom's emotion in the play to my performance.  I could also probably talk a little bit about Grace and I working together to fill up some space.  My biggest issue is the words and getting to 2000 words.  I feel it will be hard t...

Oral Presentation Practice:

#1.)  When I read the chapters, “The Wall of Fire Rising” and “Night Women” in the book Krik Krak by Edwinge Danticat, these two stories seemed to be the most eye catching to me.  When I say eye catching, they seemed different that all the other stories because most of these stories talked about the Hatian Culture and how everyone was fleeing the country because of the Macouts.  The Government was in full control of the Haitian people.  I thought these two chapters had a connection because they both have a mother and son but no father.  I thought this would make a good piece in our created performance cause we could see what both sides looked like in both stories.  In both chapters, Little Guy and Night Womens son were going through a tough time because Little Guy just lost his father and Night womens a prostetute.  After all, it seemed like the performance worked out by putting Lily as Night Women and Little Guy as Night Women's son.  It was a ve...
