Dianne Ackerman Notes for Tomorrow
Author Diane Ackerman will visit our class today. Read her poems/writing (on class blog) and take notes. Be prepared to participate in class, and post two possible questions that you might ask her on your blog.
Notes:
- As I am reading some of her poems I realized that she uses and writes a lot of metaphors and similes
- The poems that I have read are very positive, presenting a happy vibe for the poem
- I like how she describes her ways
- Most poems do not go into as much detail as this
- her poems are simple (Not confusing)
- I also like how I read the poem first and then compare it to how the author of the poem sees/ reads it.
- I also like how it is from her perspective so we can picture what she is describing
- Very different poems
- I really like the detail and how you're supposed to eat an apricot
Questions:
- How do you come up with such such simple but uncommon poems?
- Do these poems have a connection?
- What are the relations you have with your poems?
