Blog Post #4- Jacob Lebowitz
Right now my class and I are reading the romantic love story of Romeo and Juliet written by William Shakespeare. Our class went to go see this play in theater a couple weeks ago in Egerton Park. This is about how Romeo is part of Montague and Juliet is part of Capulet. Both Capulet and Montague are somewhat enemies. Although Romeo suddenly met the love of his life Juliet. Romeo can not believe it and feels he must marry her. The only problem is that Romeo and Juliet are technically both enemies. This has just messed up everything. Juliet is supposed to marry Paris but now she feels she is in love with Romeo. Anyways, the first time Shakespeare introduced Romeo as a romantic love, "Love at first sight." He is sad and depressed. All he wants to do is be alone with sadness. He is sad because she has disappeared on him. This really has him distracted and does not feel like doing anything because he is so depressed. All he wants to do is see her again. Romeo is a romantic man who wants to be loved. He wants to find someone that will want him. I agree with Benvolio, that there are many other women who will want him. He feels he should not put all of his love on the women. He should forget this and try and find another women. I respect Romeo because he is trying to find the right love for him. Juliet is very young. She is only fourteen years old and still has 2 more years to wait until she can marry someone. Everyone from Capulet thinks Juliet is going to marry Count Paris but she feels that he is not the right man for her. This is Juliet decision not her parents. Her parents don't really have the right to tell who she should marry whether its Romeo or Count Paris. I do like Juliet. I like her because she is very nice and understanding. Although she is not allowed to be outside, she goes outside just to see Romeo and then they kiss. She is like Romeo just a girl. I respect Juliet and her decision to be with Romeo. Both Romeo and Juliet are showing both Montague and Capulet that both sides are not enemies but friends. In all, Romeo and Juliet are meant to be with each other cause they fell in love first sight.
