Who are you and why are you taking this course? Jacob L

1. Hello, I am Jacob Lebowitz and taking this course because I find acting/ theatre interesting.  I am a junior and this is my third year at Cheshire Academy.  I play tennis on the varsity team and also play basketball and golf.  I love to travel the world especially with my family.  I have a twin sister who is a minute older than me.  In all, I look forward to this years class.

2.  Me and my sister are twins and so is my mom and aunt which is pretty interesting.  

3.  My mom is full native which made both my sister and I fifty percent Native American because my dad is American. My nana owns a house on the reservation and so does my grandpa and uncle.  We usually go up to Canada every summer.  Unfortunately, my nana passed away this year but will not stop us from travelling up there.  Everytime I look forward to seeing the reservation.  


4.  If you may not know most Native Americans live on the reservation so I love to help out wheather its up In Canada or here in Connecticut.  My whole family loves to go down and work at the Soup Kitchen in New Haven, Connecticut.  We have been working at the soup kitchen and helping the homeless for 3 years and going.  We usually go on the last sunday of each month to help the crew.


5.  I am taking this course because I like to go to broadway shows and see the performances and thought this would be a cool course to take.  I hope to act out scripts and learn about literature and performance.

Self Evalution

I thought my performance and write up about my performance was alright.  I think like Cassidy washing to not right so much "fluff."  I really just wrote all this fluff to fill up word space and really want the IB people who are grading my essay to know what I did to be here today.  I also think I should try and talk less about every single thing I did to prepare myself for the act.  I want to add more about the performance and not as much about the literary analysis.  In my write up I wrote a lot about the literary analysis instead of the performance.  I feel that I do need some fluff or else there will be a bit of confusion about whats going on.  I should edit more of the literary analysis though and compare more Tom's emotion in the play to my performance.  I could also probably talk a little bit about Grace and I working together to fill up some space.  My biggest issue is the words and getting to 2000 words.  I feel it will be hard t...

Oral Presentation Practice:

#1.)  When I read the chapters, “The Wall of Fire Rising” and “Night Women” in the book Krik Krak by Edwinge Danticat, these two stories seemed to be the most eye catching to me.  When I say eye catching, they seemed different that all the other stories because most of these stories talked about the Hatian Culture and how everyone was fleeing the country because of the Macouts.  The Government was in full control of the Haitian people.  I thought these two chapters had a connection because they both have a mother and son but no father.  I thought this would make a good piece in our created performance cause we could see what both sides looked like in both stories.  In both chapters, Little Guy and Night Womens son were going through a tough time because Little Guy just lost his father and Night womens a prostetute.  After all, it seemed like the performance worked out by putting Lily as Night Women and Little Guy as Night Women's son.  It was a ve...
